Friday 22nd July – Leeds to Edinburgh

So, apart from the fact that I assumed that Trina was a ultra organised person and good in the car, we had a wobbly start to our holiday. Leaving home about 1pm, we finally headed north about half a hour later after Trina went onto auto pilot and started driving south towards her parents. We had a slight detour onto the M62 before being able to get back onto the M1 north! See I sad it was a bit of an uneasy start. Good humoured and not in a rush we hoped that this was going to be the last of our driving the direction for the week.

We headed up the M1 (A1), stopping at Scotch Corner hotel for lunch and got to Scotland in the early evening. We decided to take the coast road as a reccy for potentially swimming on the way home, lots of potential through windy villages to the sea…

I love the sea…. Did I mention that?? Well all water to be completely honest.

Having swapped driving at the Scottish border, I was in the hot sea and busy gossiping we missed the ring road turn off!!! Whoops – straight into the centre of Edinburgh we headed. We took in the sights before arriving at Gareth and Laurence’s. One all in the driving mishaps now!! And I always thought we were quiet good at finding our ways!

Lots of catching up was done with eth boys (after poor John-Antony, Laurence’s wee brother, was sent to stay with his other brother), dinner and mojito madness. Laurence entertained us with his creations and we were finally presented with a really lovely and refreshing drink!! Does anyone else think that mojito’s are just alcoholic slushies for adults??

After Dusty, one of the new bunnies, was moved out of the bedroom, we hit the sack!!
